Chong Hua Hospital's Radiology & Imaging Department delivers advanced diagnostic imaging using the latest technology, including computed tomography (CT scan), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, digital X-ray, mammography, and bone densitometry.
Our department is staffed by board-certified radiologists and experienced radiologic technologists dedicated to producing high-quality diagnostic images with fast turnaround times. We support emergency, outpatient, and inpatient imaging needs at both our Cebu City and Mandaue campuses.
All imaging studies are interpreted by our in-house radiologists, and results are made available through the CHi patient portal. Emergency imaging services are available 24/7.

Yes, a written prescription from your attending, referring, or requesting physician must be presented to ensure we perform the correct procedure and prepare you safely and appropriately for the treatment.
Result release times depend on the type of procedure: X-Ray: The result will be read and released within 24 hours after the procedure is performed. For weekend procedures: Results are available by Monday at 5PM Ultrasound: Results are available 15 – 30 minutes after the procedure. Breast Ultrasound: Results are available 30 minutes to 1 hour after the procedure. Scrotum / testes: Results are available 15 – 30 minutes after the procedure. MRI: The official result will be released 24 hours after the procedure. For weekend procedures: Results are available by Monday at 5PM CT scan The official result will be released 24 hours after the procedure. For weekend procedures: Results are available by Monday at 5PM Mammography: Results are released after 1-2 working days. Cardiac Procedures: Results are released 24-48 hours after the procedure. DEXA Scan: Results are released 24 hours after the scan.
Results and images can be accessed in the following ways: Patient Portal (CHi App): You can view the digital copy of your X-ray Result Interpretation through the Patient Portal (PXi). X-Ray Films (Printed Images): Available at the General Radiology Unit of Chong Hua Hospital Cebu or the Radiology Unit of Chong Hua Hospital Mandaue. MRI and CT Scan Printouts: Image printouts will be available after your procedure Soft copy (CD or DVD) of your MRI, CT scan, or Ultrasound You may request a digital copy from the unit’s office. Burning the images takes 5-10 minutes and costs Php255.00
The duration of an MRI procedure varies depending on the type and the patient’s condition. Generally: If the patient is stable, cooperative, and has good comprehension, the procedure can be completed in 30 minutes. For an MRI Brain Plain, the allocated time for the procedure is 1 hour. Note: The time may vary due to factors such as patient movement, anxiety, and the specific type of MRI being performed.
Preparation may vary depending on the type of procedure. Below are the different types of procedures and their corresponding preparation guidelines. GENERAL RADIOLOGY (DIAGNOSTIC X-RAY) Routine Diagnostic X-ray Procedures– No preparation needed Barium and Iodinated Contrast – this may require specific patient preparation based on the patient's medical history and other related health conditions. All Female patients who suspect pregnancy and or pregnant are suggested to notify the Radiology staff. Please inform your Physician or technologist if you are pregnant. CT SCAN/COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY Routine Plain CT Procedures (non-abdominal procedures) - You may eat or drink anything before the procedure. No food restrictions. Plain CT Procedures (abdominal procedures) - Fasting at least 6 hours (no solid food) (water is okay and medication) IV Contrast CT Procedures: Creatinine Results (30 Days validity) Non- Abdomen Procedures - 4 Hours Fasting is needed/required Abdomen Contrast Procedures - 6 Hour Fasting is needed/required (water and medication are okay) The Radiology Resident may provide other preparation instructions if you have the following medical history: Food Allergies Drug/Medication Allergies Bronchial Asthma Renal/Kidney Problems Renal Impairment Renal Surgery Diabetes Mellitus CT STONOGRAM or ABDOMEN-STONOGRAM No appointment is needed No fasting required This procedure requires a full bladder This should be gradually consumed until you feel your urinary bladder is full (it is not necessary to drink the entire liter) prior to the procedure. MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING Routine Plain MRI Procedures (Except Plain Upper Abdomen,Plain MRCP, Plain Whole Abdomen, other Plain MRI procedure that includes the gallbladder) You may eat or drink anything prior to the procedure. No food restrictions. BONE MINERAL DENSITOMETRY One day (24-hours) before the test: No calcium supplement intake and a multivitamin containing calcium No dairy products, such as milk, yogurt, and cheese. No bone scan procedure (Nuclear Medicine) should be done immediately before the test. It must be scheduled after the BMD procedure, or the BMD may be performed 24 hours after the bone scan. One week (7 days) before the test: No barium enema, barium swallow, upper GI, IVP, CT scan, or MRI with contrast No Holter monitoring on the same day of the procedure. Please inform your Physician or technologist if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
