Cancer Treatment and Supportive Care Services We provide a wide range of treatments and supportive care for cancer patients at both of our locations. Chemotherapy (Available at Both Sites) What are the different types of chemotherapy to target cancer: Intravenous Chemotherapy (Through the vein) Intrathecal Chemotherapy (Into the spinal fluid) Intramuscular Chemotherapy (Into the muscle) Intravesical Chemotherapy (Into the bladder) Subcutaneous Chemotherapy (Under the skin) Other Cancer Treatments Immunotherapy – Boosts the body’s natural defenses against cancer Chelation Therapy – Helps remove heavy metals from the body Therapeutic Phlebotomy – A procedure to remove extra blood when needed Pulse Therapy – High-dose treatment given in short bursts Blood Transfusion (For Cancer Patients Only) Whole blood Red blood cells (for anemia) Platelets (collected through a special process) Plasma (helps with clotting) Cryoprecipitate (for blood clotting disorders) Specialized Procedures Lumbar Puncture (For Cancer Patients Only) – A procedure to collect spinal fluid, with or without sedation Bone Marrow Aspiration and Biopsy – A test to check bone marrow, with or without sedation Port-A-Cath Flushing – Keeps a chemotherapy port clean and working properly Medications and Fluid Support Chemotherapy Tablets – Oral chemo medication Hydration Therapy – Extra fluids before a CT scan, MRI, or PET scan with contrast IV Antibiotics (For Cancer Patients Only) – Given through the vein when needed Our goal is to provide safe, effective, and compassionate care to support every step of your cancer treatment journey.

To ensure patient safety and proper preparation, a written prescription from your Attending or Requesting Physician is required before any procedure. The physician must be affiliated with our unit.

For Tumors – Oncologists For Blood Disorders – Hematologists For Rheumatic Disorders – Rheumatologists For OB-GYN Cases – OB-GYN Oncologists only For Surgical Cases – Surgical Oncologists only This policy helps ensure that each procedure is performed correctly and safely, tailored to the patient’s specific condition.

Your Attending Physician will determine and schedule your treatment or procedure. If you need to reschedule, please coordinate directly with your Attending Physician. Walk-ins are highly discouraged to ensure proper preparation and patient safety.

If done within Chong Hua Hospital: Results will be available in 7 working days. If sent to an external facility (NKTI or SLMC): Results will be available in 12-14 working days. For result availability, please contact the Laboratory Releasing Unit.

Where to Claim: For tests done within Chong Hua Hospital: Histopathology Department For send-out tests (NKTI or SLMC): Laboratory Releasing Area Important Reminders: Bring the patient ledger/receipt when claiming results. If a representative is claiming the results, a signed Authorization Letter is required.
